The “One Thing” You Need to Hear… September 2, 2007

So, turn down the T.V, shut the window if you need to, and LISTEN UP !!
No matter how hard life may get, or how impossible it may seem…never stop believing in yourself, never stop loving yourself, and never stop being yourself.
Because as soon as you stop that, you just stop living !
I had a Chiropractor, from somewhere in Washington state, call me out-of-the-blue a few months ago (I forgot that my home office # was plastered on the front page of my personal site for quite awhile) and basically tell me “I need help …I like what you’re writing, and your upfront style. But life, quite frankly, sucks for me Barry. I’m sorta floatin around not knowing what to do.”
I had to tell him that I don’t do life coaching; yet, in a lot of ways, after 20-minutes of talking to him about how precious life is, and about how we’re all here to play the game (as long as we’re having fun while winning and learning while losing - yep, that’s how games work), I ended up DOING life coaching anyway.
When it was all said and done, Mike just needed to hear that somebody believes in him.
And, you do too !
Why do I know that ?
Because, you’re a human being …
We all need somebody to tell us how important we are to them; how we make a difference; how our talents and strengths bring about positive change.
And, yeah, don’t think that I’ve gone all “soft” on ya or that the person writing this is his ’sensitive soul’ while the everyday Barry is sleeping.
Nah, it’s really the completely aware, highly in-love Barry who understands how to SHARE what’s on his heart, not only when the timing is supposed to be right (like writing a prologue to this months video annoucement) but when “life” brings me seemingly unrelated on-the-fly synchronicities too (but, more on that soon).
And, by the way … who am I in-love with ?

I liked the message of your post, Barry. It is VERY true. If I could bend (a little of) William Shakespeare’s quote….
To thine own self, be Love. ( the original “true”, keeps its wise place too)
So much of our population has to re-learn their way back to their hearts. I could lament on this reality but I would rather give thanks that this process is more “acceptable” today than it was in my parents time.
May we all know the beauty of our Selves.

Hi Barry, its nice to hear a soul sensitive man speak ‘from the heart’ about Love. Sometimes people run from ‘Love’ when really thats what life is all about only not everyone can see that. Thanks for the reminder that ultimately we need to be ‘in love’ with ourselves no matter what! Heather
