“Please Make All My Secret Spiritual Gurus Agree With Each Other” March 16, 2007

Posted by Barry Goss in : Pre-launch Insight , trackback

Somebody wrote in a few days ago suggesting that our Talking E-book, which highlights excerpts of our complete 20-hour / 200+page audio / transcript package, might be ’stirring the confusion pot’ even more than it already has been stirred.

You see, apparently, in some people’s minds ALL mentors who come together in a collective cause to awaken people via one medium (in this case a DVD that has taken on legs of its own), are ALSO supposed to completely agree with each other.

Some people, in order to be less confused than they already are for making one single DVD their religion, seem to want one road and one vehicle to get to where we, individually, can really all eventually get to … in our way personal way:

Mastery of ourselves thru increased inner-consciousness and awareness of the unseen world around us.

In some utopian-like ever-harmonious reality (somewhere in Perfectville USA) everybody might agree on the same path. And, just because that isn’t happening with some of The Secret teachers, and our site copy and/or Talking E-book might accentuate that in particular places, we’re not, by any means, saying they’re intentionally trying to disagree with what each other said, or provoke their fellow teachers behind the scenes.

That isn’t what is happening, But, what we are telling you and what you might see and hear thru our Talking E-book is this:

Why is it necessary to have them all agree? They didn’t all reach the ultimate destination the same way and are speaking from their experiences of how they got to the ultimate destination of using the power that God placed with all of us of how to use the laws of the universe to manifest what we desire so long as we do not cause harm to others. Each person should use what works for him/her and get busy moving forward in learning to use that power. We don’t all have the same layers of stuff (beliefs, life experiences, hurts, fears, etc.) that we need to get rid of before we can begin the journey so we won’t all need the same road (mental road) to get to the ultimate destination of using the Power God placed in all of us( the destination) to do great things and to bring joy, happiness, peace, wealth into our lives and to share that that we have with others. Let us NOT loose sight of the destination that we’re all tryin to get to. We should all focus on a method that works the best per individual and stay on a path to the destination.

Well said, Barry! I have been following all the media attention about The Secret and all the resulting controversy. I have the book and the DVD.

I found something great that picks up where The Secret leaves off. It’s a series of 12 interviews with people well-known in this field, and they are free to listen to. It’s a 12-week program that will transform your way of thinking, doing, being and having.

And it features Barry Goss!

Many teachers, many masters. Many paths to the one mountaintop. Do not be afraid to meander, seek and find.

12 Week Life
Transformation

Thank you, Barry, for lending your talents to this project.

The reason the spiritual gurus disagree is not that they are on different paths but that they are at different points along the same path. Most of them cannot see the path, though. The gurus who emphasize action, Jack Canfield in particular though there are many others, are way back along the path of spiritual development. They BELIEVE that action is the key to success, and so for them it is. What they do not realize is that for most people, action is not the key to success because most people believe they are going to fail, and as long as they believe that, no amount of action is going to change the end result, i.e., failure.

Midway along the path of development are most of the gurus represented in The Secret. They recognize that what you focus on you manifest, and so they try to provide the how-to’s of how to focus differently. But visualizing, focusing, goal-setting and so on will not change your internal beliefs about whether or not you can, should, or will have what you want. People wish for things their whole lives without ever manifesting it in their reality.

Far along down the path of development are a tiny fraction of gurus who recognize that changing those internal beliefs is the FIRST step to getting what you desire. (Fewer still can give you any useful advice on how to change those beliefs.) These are the people the action gurus accuse of preaching the “sitting in a cave” approach. The action gurus do not understand that as long as you believe you are going to fail, no amount of action is going to help you succeed, that as soon as you see any evidence of success, you will sabotage it to prove yourself right. Wayne Dyer is one of those who has it exactly right, that you will see it when you believe it, not the other way around. When you change your belief about whether or not you can, should, and will succeed, then you will take the actions necessary to succeed, even if you sat in a cave for 50 years before managing to change that belief.

I have discovered one person who is even further down the path than that, and he talks about how the point of all this manifestation is because we believe it will make us happy, so if we just focus on being happy, we can cut out all those middlemen. I recognize that this is the next step in my own spiritual development, but because I have not yet manifested all the things that I want in life (money, women, power, recognition, fame, etc.), I’m not yet ready to go there. This is not to say that there isn’t one or more steps beyond that along the path of spiritual development that I cannot see, but I hope I’ve given you a bird’s eye view of most of the path, and that you can see now why the gurus of success disagree.

We all think differently, so why would we all completely agree, well that would be boring! this diversity makes life - life!

Why is the “Secret” a secret? why should we pay for it? Seems to me it should be free for anyone who wants it regardless! attaching a price on things like this you limit people more.
