When I write to my community, I try to share what I believe is relevant and beneficial to my niche—insights that are real estate specific. Not necessarily this one.
At what point did the airwaves give license to spew such a steady stream of negativity and create so much fear among us? Love the 1st amendment, hard to like it’s application sometimes.
This holds true for those dire predictions we have heard for years regarding the demise of the real estate market, stock market, your health, wealth, terrorism, political scene (well, maybe CNN is correct here), and so on.
While I will refrain from politijudicing (politicizing/prejudicing) the media as liberal and so far left they may even become right, why the fear mongering?
Unfortunately many are addicted to the hundreds of news sources that seem starved for content. We go to bed at night after watching a newscast that has us unable to shut our eyes for fear we will wake up in the hell we just witnessed.
I would like to be able to simply represent that “I don’t get it.” But that would be naive. Because many of us can’t go to the car race and feel cheated if we don’t see a crash.
FEAR sells. It’s the new sex. Sure sex will always sell, but now we have so much fear permeating our consciousness that we have trouble concentrating on our favorite past time.
What to do? First, turn it off (no, not that, your TV). You must create your own reality. For you to live a life outside of perceived limitations you must operate beyond society’s status quo, outside normal. Who desires mediocrity?
Succeeding in the business of life begins with casting off inhibitions, detractors and fear. And that is what is so prevalent in today’s media.
You know, over the last 5 years I have spent countless hours up in my oceanfront treehouse office creating my own reality. From this location I am not negatively influenced. From here, I write my best selling books, design our multi-million dollar oceanfront homes, and oversee the good work of our Caring House Project Foundation.
Sure I need to stay current, but I don’t see my life unfolding through the TV set. I have spent the better part of 20 years exercising my risk threshold like a muscle. Over time is has become stronger and is now able to withstand greater pressure. You can do this too.
It is challenging to make markets, be creative and see what others don’t if you spend so much time watching what others do.

I agree whole heartedly Frank.
The news media has become so prevalent on TV today that they have to show the same news over and over. Because of this they, I hope without malicious intent, sensationalize the events that happen and continue to pound the public with the same violent criminal act from different perspectives.
I personally believe this along with what is seen on TV today as part of “family TV time” is a tremendous contributing factor to our continued rise in youth violence and brutally violent crime.
I look at very little news and highly recommend that everyone turn off the TV.
For many TV is a potent “painkiller”, numbing them after an exosting day. They come over, get some chips sit on a sofa and apply themselves a shot to forget.
They find a subsitute of life they yearn in the silver screen. For a moment they believe that their dreams came true, that they live a luxurious life, face adventures, explore the world. The energy they could use to achieve the world of their dreams gets dissipated, they dose off and the next day welcomes them with the usual simphony of chores. “If only could I somehow escape this bore” they think - an so again they come before the silver screen…
Escape becomes a trap
Don’t chew on substitute life - turn off TV and make your own dreams come true.

Awesome! Frank McKinney is who certainly walks his talk and I truly respect that. I agree that TV is having a negative impact on society as a whole and on individual’s personal development.
I haven’t turned my TV off completely although I too avoid the news. I am selective with what I watch and you can still find some great programmes on the box that both educate and inspire. My awareness has vastly increased as a result of these programmes.
Still, I limit the amount of time I spend watching TV because all the education and inspiration in the world is not going to do me any good unless I put it into action.
Well with all the negetive input…….. THEY STEAL your JOY!
Do we need it? NO fill your mind with things that are nice good and see your spirit lift and success beaming.!!!!

I agree with you totally - the picture you drew reminds of myself years ago: I returned from dull work, ate dinner, and sat down in front of TV just to have the time pass by, not to be complelled to think to much, not to be aware that there could be sth more…
Now, I am at different place, there are still some obstacles but having accomplished many things so far, I do have faith to be even more succesful, to overcome whatever limitations left.
Please note that I do NOT watch TV anymore (if I feel like wathing a film, I just go to the cinema for a good one), I don’t even HAVE the TV! As for the news, I am ignorant of them, because I know that they won’ add to my life, rather the opposite.

Hallo Heather and attention to Gregg Braden Do you think this Selfhelpfraud-sillyMaster could be convinced by the following truth, that after reading Dr. Murphy “The Power of your Subconscious Mind” and starting to experiment I had 5 miraclulous experiences before I sat with the Life-Ins. Just as we have Google he has the Universal Computer System and we are connected with this by our DNA and I sure could tell you much more but I will tell it to Gregg.
